St. Mary's County Bar Association Scholarship Opportunity
The St. Mary’s County Bar Association (SMCBA) established a scholarship fund to reward a St. Mary’s County graduating high school senior who demonstrates meritorious achievements in high school by providing the graduate with a one-time, non-renewable scholarship to continue his/her/their academic endeavors. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who reside and attend school in St. Mary’s County and will be attending a four-year college or university, a community college, or a technical college.
Â
Scholarship applicants are evaluated on academic achievement, school and/or community activities, social awareness, and appreciation of the law. Applications are judged by a committee of impartial attorneys and judges selected from the members of the St. Mary’s County Bar Association. Gender, nationality, national origin, or ethnicity will not be used by any committee member to influence the ranking of applicants.
Â
Scholarship applications are distributed through BECA’S St. Mary’s County Common Scholarship Application. The scholarship application typically opens in January and closes in March.
